As far as I can tell, timevault has had no active development for the past couple of years. I think it would be better to use the actively developed backup app called "Back in time". Conceptually it was based on Time Vault and Flyback. Available here: http://backintime.le-web.org/

Thanks for the enthusiastic article on a backup solution for Ubuntu.

Have you tried Deja-Dup? It's an even simpler back up solution based on Duplicity. It's under very active development too.

Too bad it's only 32 bit, making it useless to x64 users! What a buzz kill.

[...] TimeVault simplifies data backup for Ubuntu users Backing up data can be difficult, especially when you only want to copy files that changed since the last backup. It can be even more troublesome when you have to remember to start the process manually,or you have to delete old backups to make room for new ones. Because of these difficulties, some people decide not to back up data at all, and feel the pain when they accidentally delete the wrong file or their system crashes.
